FOTONA LASER

Fotona laser treatments use advanced laser technology to address a range of skin concerns and aesthetic goals. Depending on the treatment selected, Fotona’s Nd:YAG and Er:YAG wavelengths can be used to target different depths and structures within the skin.

Treatments can be customized to address concerns such as skin texture, fine lines, sun damage, pigmentation, redness and visible vessels, acne scarring, unwanted hair, and overall skin rejuvenation. Some Fotona treatments work more deeply within the skin with little to no downtime, while others involve controlled resurfacing of the skin and require a period of healing.

Your treatment plan, settings, number of sessions, and expected downtime will be individualized based on your skin type, concerns, medical history, and desired outcome.

Fotona Laser treatments at MAISON 627 are performed by Ashley, RN. Book your consultation or treatment with Ashley to develop a personalized approach to your skin health.

FOTONA LASER CARE

BEFORE FOTONA LASER

At MAISON 627, safety and informed care are the foundation of every treatment. Before receiving a Fotona laser treatment, you will undergo an individualized assessment and consultation to determine whether treatment is appropriate for you. This includes reviewing your medical history, medications and supplements, skin type, treatment goals, previous treatments, and factors that may affect your response to laser treatment.

Please inform your provider of any medications or products that may increase photosensitivity, a history of cold sores (herpes simplex), abnormal scarring or keloids, recent procedures or treatments, active skin conditions, infections, open lesions, or recent changes to your health or medications. Your treatment options, expected benefits, potential risks and complications, alternatives, expected downtime, and aftercare will be reviewed before informed consent is obtained.

Avoid tanning beds and intentional tanning before treatment. Recent significant sun exposure or a sunburn may require your treatment to be postponed. Self-tanning products should also be discontinued before treatment as directed by your provider.

Your skincare instructions will depend on the type and intensity of laser treatment being performed. You may be asked to temporarily discontinue certain active skincare ingredients before treatment. Your provider will give you individualized instructions when necessary.

Please arrive with clean skin free of makeup, lotions, oils, or other products on the treatment area when possible. Treatment may be postponed if you are unwell or have active infection, inflammation, irritation, open skin, or sunburn in the treatment area.

AFTERCARE

After Fotona laser treatment, temporary redness, warmth, swelling, sensitivity, or a sunburn-like sensation may occur. The degree and duration of these effects depend on the type and intensity of treatment performed.

For gentler, non-ablative treatments, redness and warmth are generally temporary and normal activities can often be resumed quickly. More intensive or resurfacing treatments may cause several days of redness, swelling, dryness, flaking, peeling, or crusting as the skin heals. Your provider will discuss the expected recovery period for your specific treatment.

Treat the skin gently following your procedure. Avoid picking, scratching, exfoliating, or removing peeling or flaking skin. Use only the skincare products recommended by your provider during the initial healing period following resurfacing treatments.

Avoid excessive heat and strenuous exercise until significant redness, heat, and irritation have settled. Specific restrictions will vary depending on the treatment performed.

Protecting treated skin from ultraviolet exposure is particularly important following laser treatment. Avoid intentional sun exposure and tanning, and use a broad-spectrum sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher once appropriate for the treated skin. Additional sun-protection instructions may be provided depending on your procedure.

Following resurfacing treatments, your provider will give you specific instructions regarding cleansing, moisturizing, skincare, makeup, and when to resume active skincare ingredients. Following these instructions carefully is an important part of the healing process.
