NEUROMODULATORS
Neuromodulators are injectable treatments that temporarily relax targeted facial muscles to soften the appearance of expression lines caused by repeated movement, such as frown lines, forehead lines, and crow’s feet. Treatment is individualized based on your facial anatomy, muscle movement, and desired outcome, with the goal of maintaining natural expression while creating a refreshed appearance.
Results typically begin to appear within several days, with full effect generally seen within approximately 10–14 days. Results are temporary and commonly last approximately three to four months, although this varies between individuals and treatment areas.
NEUROMODULATOR CARE
BEFORE NEUROMODULATORS
At MAISON 627, safety and informed care are the foundation of every treatment. Before receiving a neuromodulator, you will undergo an individualized assessment and consultation to determine whether treatment is appropriate for you. This includes reviewing your medical history, medications and supplements, allergies, previous treatments, and treatment goals.
Please inform your provider of any neuromuscular conditions, previous reactions to botulinum toxin, difficulty swallowing or breathing, medications that may affect muscle or nerve function, or active infection or inflammation in or near the treatment area. Neuromodulator treatment is generally avoided during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Your treatment options, expected benefits, potential risks and complications, alternatives, and aftercare will be reviewed with you before informed consent is obtained.
Some medications and supplements may increase the likelihood of bruising. Please discuss any medications or supplements you are taking with your provider before treatment. Do not stop any prescribed medication unless advised to do so by the healthcare provider who prescribed it. Limiting alcohol before treatment may also help reduce bruising.
Please arrive with clean, makeup-free skin when possible. Treatment may be postponed if you are unwell or have an active infection, inflammation, rash, or other skin concern in or near the treatment area.
AFTERCARE
Following treatment, mild redness, swelling, tenderness, small raised areas at the injection sites, or pinpoint bruising may occur. These effects are generally temporary and typically settle within several hours to a few days.
Avoid rubbing, massaging, or applying significant pressure to the treated areas for the remainder of the day unless otherwise directed by your provider. Normal gentle facial movement and everyday activities may generally be resumed following treatment.
For the remainder of the day, avoiding strenuous exercise, alcohol, and excessive heat such as hot tubs, saunas, and steam rooms may help minimize redness, swelling, and bruising.
You may gently cleanse your face and resume your usual skincare as tolerated, taking care not to vigorously rub or massage the treated areas. Makeup may be applied once the injection sites have closed and the skin is not irritated.
Results typically begin to appear within several days, with full effect generally seen at approximately 10–14 days. If a follow-up assessment is recommended, this is generally the appropriate time to assess the final treatment outcome and determine whether any adjustment is indicated.
